St. John’s UCC Mixed Choir
The mixed choir will be off for Germanfest Sunday, Sept. 29. St. John’s UCC Choir will have rehearsals each Sunday in October at 9:45 am.
We will continue to meet monthly after worship at St. John’s UCC from 11:45 am to 1:15 pm. As always, anyone is welcome to join us. We grow by continuing discussion of our faith journey and what is essential as we attempt to understand God’s great love for all and how we struggle to live in the way Jesus models. We will begin on Oct. 27, 2019.
Big Woods Run 2019
Tuesday evenings at 7 pm & Thursday mornings at 9:30 am at Cardinal Point:
Beginning August 27 at 7 pm at St. John’s UCC and August 29 at 9:30 am at Cardinal Point, we will study “Breaking the Code,” a trustworthy guide to understanding the Book of Revelation. Although many Christians find the Book of Revelation to be full of great beauty and comfort, others find this part of the Bible bizarre, bewildering, and sometimes frightening. Bruce M. Metzger provides one of the most important and trustworthy guides of Revelation, and now it includes findings from the most current Biblical research. The book is part of a six-week group study when combined with the revised editions of the DVD and Leader Guide.
The six-session DVD features David deSilva guiding participants through the study. Each video segment is approximately 10-12 minutes in length and, when combined with the six book chapters, make an ideal six-week group study. All video sessions are closed captioned. Cost is $10, copies are at church for your convenience. Please contact Pastor Lora with questions and to express interest. Tentatively, keeping meeting time format of other Bible Studies. Tentatively, this Bible Study session will end October 1 & 3. Please join us!

Please offer suggestions of locations that are easily accessible, easy to find and open to the community. It is great to connect with one another. Plan at least a half hour, no longer than an hour. If you’re not able to come, please spend that dedicated time in prayer. It is making a difference. Also, remember P-P-P, People Pray and Praise. Let us continue praying for this season of new starts, and the communities and people we serve. Pray for God to bring people to engage with and invite to various activities that you enjoy. We are witnessing in our local communities to God’s extravagant love by our prayers and our presence. Thank you for your generosity!
Non-perishable food items are always welcome and may be brought to the church at any time. Your help delivering those items to our local food shelves is greatly appreciated. This is one of the many ways we share in mission!
